What is Porvoo-Sipoon fisheries region?

Fisheries regions are public corporations established to develop and manage fisheries within their respective areas. They promote collaboration among their members – owners of water areas and nationwide fishing organizations – to ensure the sustainable management of fish stocks.
There are 118 fisheries regions in Finland. The Porvoo–Sipoon fisheries region includes coastal waters, lakes, four major rivers, with a total water surface of approximately 48,800 hectares. The waters are located within the city of Porvoo, the municipality of Sipoo, and partly within the city of Loviisa.
Fishing is a popular hobby in Finland. Some fishing methods, like angling with a hook of line, are free of charge in Finland. However, most types of fishing require the appropriate permits.
